TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In these general terms and conditions, as well as in any related Agreement(s), the following terms shall have the following meanings:

  1. Edu@Sea: organiser of educational voyages on ocean going sailing vessels, that combine formal learning with personal development
  2. SP: Schola Polaris, the educational and personal development programme for students aged 16 to 18 enrolled in the Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate as offered by Edu@Sea
  3. Client: any natural person that registers an account on the SP-website
  4. Account: a personal account on the SP-website
  5. Registration: the process of making an Account, which includes providing some personal information and the payment of a Registration fee, thereby gaining access to Exclusive content about SP
  6. Exclusive content: online SP-content that is only accessible to website visitors who have registered an account on the SP-website
  7. Registration fee: the fee that must be paid during Registration
  8. Transaction: The transaction between Client and SP in which Client creates an Account and pays the Registration fee in order to gain access to Exclusive content.
  9. Tuition fee: fees required for next steps of the application process, not covered by these terms and conditions
  1. These terms and conditions only apply to the Transaction.
  2. These terms and conditions do not apply to any of the following step of the application process for SP
  3. Separate terms and conditions apply to the following steps of the applications process and any payments involved in those steps. These terms and conditions will be available to those who have completed the Registration
  4. These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement setting forth the rights and obligations of the Client and SP with regards to the Transaction.
  5. In the event that any provision of these terms and conditions should be invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue to have effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a provision that approximates, to the extent possible, the intent of the invalid provision.
  6. The contracting parties of the Transaction are the Client and SP.
  1. After Client completes the Registration, SP ensures that Client receives access to Exclusive content on the SP-website.
  2. Client’s Account and access to Exclusive content will remain active for 12 months after the last activity
  3. SP is not obligated to allow Client automatic access to the next steps of the SP application process after Transaction has been completed.
  1. Client is required to pay the Registration fee in full upon creation of an Account
  2. Client is expected to treat the Exclusive content as confidential and not share Exclusive content with others who do not also have an Account
  3. No rights regarding the rest of the application process can be derived from completing this Transaction
  4. Client is not obligated to pay any part of the Tuition fee without first agreeing to continue with the next steps of the SP application process
  1. The Registration fee is paid during the process of creating an Account and must be paid immediately and in full
  2. The Registration fee can be paid using any of the payment options provided
  3. The Registration fee is a single, one-time payment. No further payments are necessary to create an Account or gain access to the Exclusive content.
  1. The Registration fee is non-refundable.
  1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Dutch law.
  2. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent court in the district in which SP has his place of business. In the event that the Client is a Consumer, he shall be entitled, within one month, to designate a different court.
  1. Complaints concerning the Transaction shall be made within fourteen days of the Account creation date.
  2. The Client shall communicate any complaints concerning the Transaction to SP in order to give SP the opportunity to correct any situation that is the subject of a legitimate complaint.
